History of the ReStore
The ReStore in Nashua opened it’s doors in April of 2013 as a fundraising division of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashua. In 2013, the ReStore started out as a 10,000 sq.ft. building designed as a warehouse space and since it’s inception has been re-purposed to fill the thrift store niche of an already antique-store filled strip. With the generous support of our volunteers, staff, partners and sponsors such as Lowes, Viking Roofing, Just Lights and many others, we have created a location that is clean, organized, and offers a variety of unique items mixed with necessities for any home repair or redesign project.
What is the ReStore?
The ReStore is a discount home improvement center open to the public that accepts donations of new and gently used items from individuals and businesses in the community, and sells those items to the public at a reduced cost, usually 50-70 percent of the original retail value. All profits go to support home ownership for hard working, low income families in the Greater Nashua area, while keeping good, reusable materials in use and out of the landfill.
Through the selling of donated items:
- Helps fund the building of homes for hard working, low income families through Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashua.
- Keep good and reusable items out of the landfill.
- Provide quality materials to the general public at discounted prices.
- Brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Giving families hope is our foundation of what makes us thrive. There is not a better testament to the importance of our work than the stories of the families whose lives have been changed by owning an affordable home.
